Ballet Coaching Wirral is coached by Emma Layne, a professional dancer, choreographer and ballet coach with extensive coaching experience across the UK and Europe.
Emma provides expert, encouraging ballet coaching for young dancers, adults and aspiring professionals, nurturing confidence, refining technique and deepening each student’s understanding of their training in a supportive and inspiring environment.
From professional company coaching and rehearsal to intensive training, performance preparation and individual dancer development, Emma brings a wealth of first-hand knowledge and experience into every class, helping students understand what it takes to train and perform at a professional level.

Emma has 18 years of professional performance experience; rehearsing with world-renowned
Ballet Masters, and performing on guest residencies and opera house stages across Europe and USA.

From Performance to Coaching
Alongside her performance career, Emma has built a rich and diverse breadth of experience as a ballet coach, teacher and mentor. Emma’s experience spans professional company settings, intensive training programmes, rehearsals, coaching and performance preparation.
Emma has a unique insight into the many different demands and pathways within the dance profession and is passionate about helping the next generation of ballet dancers develop not only strong classical technique and performance quality, but also the confidence, artistry and professional mindset needed to progress towards advanced training and a professional
career in ballet.
Professional Career
Dance professional Emma Layne has built an international career which has taken her across leading stages, working with professional dance companies throughout the UK and Europe.
Emma was born in Manchester and began dancing age 7. Her local teachers forged a path which connected her with opportunities and scholarship offers. Emma graduated from Central School of Ballet with a BA (Hons) in Professional Dance & Performance, launching her early career in 2009.
Emma has performed an extensive classical repertoire spanning: classical ballet, neo-classical works and newly created productions, gaining invaluable experience working with a diverse range of choreographers, companies and artistic teams. Her professional engagements include: Deutsche Oper Berlin, Balletto di Vicenza, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Nordharzer Städtebundtheater, Ballet Cymru and Ballett Magdeburg. Emma has been invited and joined top respected dance companies: English National Ballet, Ballet Zurich, Staatsballett Berlin, and Bejart Ballet, amongst many other theatres around Germany, where she worked for 10 years.
Classical Ballets include: The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Cinderella, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita,
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo & Juliet, Elite Syncopations, Carmen, Le Corsaire, Coppelia,
La Bayadère, Façade, La Fille mal gardée and Don Quixote.
Throughout her performing career, Emma has been asked by artistic teams to assist in the role of ballet mistress, working with fellow company dancers and cast members, refining work in the studio in preparation for stage.
